HULK HOGAN could be set for a stunning return to WWE just two years after he was sacked by the company.
Now reports are claiming that the 64-year-old is on the verge of making a comeback for the 25th anniversary episode of Monday Night Raw in January.
Legends such as The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels have already been confirmed for the landmark occasion.
And Hogan's potential homecoming would certainly raise a few eyebrows following his axing from the promotion in 2015 after audio emerged of him making racist remarks, leading to him being removed from WWE's Hall of Fame.
The legendary Real American apologised for his comments, but wrestling officials removed all references to his legacy from their programmes and website.
Hogan, who stands at 6ft 7in and is famed for his 24-inch Pythons, was entered into the HOF back in 2005.
WWE chiefs have been considering asking him to come back for the special show, which is being held in two New York venues, for some time.
And the Wrestling Observer are claiming that they have now opened talks with the superstar.
Triple H has previously spoken of his desire to see Hogan back in the business once he had regained "the confidence within the world as to who he is".
Hogan's controversial comments cost him his role within WWE July 24, 2015 as the old audio was made public of him discussing his daughter Brooke's boyfriend.
Following the backlash, he said in a statement: "Eight years ago I used offensive language during a conversation. It was unacceptable for me to have used that offensive language; there is no excuse for it; and I apologise for having done it.
"This is not who I am. I believe very strongly that every person in the world is important and should not be treated differently based on race, gender, orientation, religious beliefs or otherwise."
His merchandise was removed from the WWE store while his character was also taken off the company's video games.
His last appearance at a WWE event was at WrestleMania 31, just months after the promotion had held a "Hulk Hogan Appreciation Night" at Madison Square Garden.
